The Lost Years of Jesus

I have sometimes wondered what happened in the years of Jesus between His infancy and the beginning of His public ministry. Why was nothing recorded? Why almost 30 years of silence? Those are good questions. I imagine lots of people ask something similar while reading through the Bible. The most convincing answer, which I've yet to hear better, is in what God says about His own character: “For I am meek and humble of heart” (Matt 11:29). Jesus was born in a mangier, raised by a poor family, and probably toiled in ordinary carpentry work with His foster father. Therefore, the reason nothing was written about Him in those “lost years” was, most likely, because none of that was extraordinary to write about. God was simply "found human in appearance" (Phil 2:7) and lived like us in all ways but sin.
